The story

Rigor, aimed at one client at a time

“Most advisers learned this business at a sales desk. I earned a PhD in it, researched it, and taught it for two decades.”

I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from New York University and spent over twenty years in academia — teaching more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate economics students, and over 400 MBA and Executive MBA students, at institutions including NYU, UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business, and City University of Hong Kong.

Along the way, I published research in leading peer-reviewed journals — including the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, a Financial Times Top 50 journal, and Economics Letters — and presented at more than 20 international academic conferences.

But here’s what I noticed: the analytical rigor that institutions and corporations take for granted rarely reaches the people who need it most — families planning for retirement, parents navigating a special needs future, business owners deciding between a Solo 401(k) and a SEP IRA.

So in 2022, I founded Monies Wealth to change that.

Today, I bring the same discipline I demanded in the classroom and in research to every client engagement: evidence over hype, planning over products, and your interests first — always. That last part isn’t a preference. As a fiduciary Registered Investment Adviser, it’s the legal standard I chose to practice under.
